One of the main cities that make up the Los Cabos Municipality, San Jose del Cabo is a relaxing destination with traditional Mexican charm. It’s also one of the safest places to stay near Cabo San Lucas.

Spacious suites at this all-inclusive resort feature luxury linens, minibars, coffeemakers, robes and slippers. Amenities include seven restaurants, a pool and beach access.

Location

The Los Cabos area consists of two cities: San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. While both cities are located within the Los Cabos Municipality, they offer distinct experiences and attractions.

San Jose del Cabo is a tranquil, upscale beach town that’s about an hour north of the more vibrant Cabo San Lucas. It’s also known for its unique cuisine, featuring fresh seafood and authentic Mexican dishes.

Despite being a bit farther from downtown, San Jose del Cabo has plenty of activities to keep you busy without leaving the property. You can head out for a night on the town or take a taxi or bus to nearby shopping and dining centers.

The all inclusive rate includes meals at seven on-site restaurants, drinks at the pool bar and drinks brought down to the private beach area. There are also a few options for dinner off-site, including Flora’s Field Kitchen and Bullfighter turned chef Pablo Velez’s El Matador Restaurante.

Rooms

The resort offers a range of room types, including one- and two-bedroom suites. These spacious accommodations include a living room, full kitchenette, private balcony or terrace, and bathroom with a walk-in shower, double sinks, and separate tub.

In addition to the room’s standard amenities, guests can enjoy a private beach area and swim-up bar, as well as access to a few on-property restaurants. The resort also offers an all-inclusive plan, which includes meals at a variety of restaurants, drinks, and activities for adults and kids.

The rooms are modern and stylish, with smooth tile floors, king beds with crisp linens, and balconies with ocean views. They have air-conditioning, minibars, flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, and free Wi-Fi. The hotel also has a spa and an infinity pool.

Dining

When you’re looking for a relaxing vacation in Los Cabos, an all inclusive resort can be the perfect choice. These hotels offer everything from beach yoga to diving, plus a range of restaurants and bars.

The diverse dining scene flits between ultra high-end seafood spots, hip taquerias and hole-in-the-wall joints serving local specialties. You can eat at one of the many high-end restaurants on the main drag in San Jose del Cabo, or head out to the city’s hinterland to discover a few rustic ranch houses and an arty urban center with lively local eateries.

Jazmin’s offers music and dancers most evenings, with a street fiesta on Thursdays for the San Jose del Cabo art walk. This is a family friendly restaurant that will make you feel at home. They have a nice menu with something for everyone, and the cocktails are delicious.

Activities

San Jose del Cabo is known for its seaside charm, but the area also has a rich culture and historic landmarks. The picturesque city center features a charming plaza, colonial buildings, and a lively nightlife that draws locals and visitors alike.

Art lovers will love the city’s eclectic galleries. You can find a wide variety of paintings, sculptures and ceramic bowls here from both local and international artists.

A popular activity is the weekly art walk, which happens every Thursday from November through June. The shops are open late and the streets are closed to cars so that you can stroll through the gallery districts on foot.

While you’re in town, don’t forget to visit Plaza Artesanos, where you’ll find a number of vendors selling traditional Mexican blankets and bags. These are available in a variety of colors and designs, so you can pick one that matches your beach attire.
