Playa Moroma, Catalonia’s All-Inclusive Resort
Located on the east coast of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, Playa Moroma is a beach resort overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The resort’s name is a reference to a white-sand beach, and it’s a good value for your money. There’s a fitness center, spa, and entertainment staff, and the rooms are clean and spacious.
There’s a fitness center, spa, and entertainment staff
Located on a five mile strip of beach in the southeastern Caribbean, Catalonia’s award winning resort is a slick operation. There is a plethora of activities to keep guests entertained, from a cocktail class to mini-golf. With a posh spa to boot, the resort’s perks are matched by its price tag. There aren’t many hotels in this part of the world that offer all-inclusive packages that don’t have you paying up front for what should be an all-inclusive experience.
The hotel isn’t without its faults though, from its insufficient poolside bar to its overpriced nightlife. On the plus side, the hotel’s three pools, including the main pool, are all family-friendly. There’s a kids’ club and a nanny service to boot. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. There’s a free-flowing pool with cabanas, poolside bar, and snack bar, all of which are open to non-residents. Getting around the property isn’t a problem, either.

Located in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, Catalonia Playa Maroma is a resort in an ecologically sustainable area. The hotel’s grounds are spread across five miles of undeveloped white sand beach. Its hacienda-inspired architecture features Mexican folk art, vaulted wood-and-thatch ceilings, and stone floors. The lobby offers cushioned banquettes and wrought-iron tables. There’s a 24-hour bar, a swimming pool, and nightly entertainment.
The hotel features 36 luxury rooms. They offer king beds, sunken tubs, and hand-painted Mexican tiles. The rooms are also equipped with ceiling fans and hammocks. There are four bathrooms, a living room, and a private terrace. They are surrounded by gardens and feature tropical foliage.
Guests can enjoy daily activities, such as beach volleyball, water polo, ping-pong, and soccer. In addition to the resort’s amenities, guests can take advantage of the nearby Xcaret Park and the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve. There’s also a library and an art gallery.
The hotel’s rates include airport transfers. Guests can also arrange chartered trips to see the looming tower at Tulum, visit an ancient trading port, and swim with dolphins.
